Asian Development Bank Meeting On Port Training And Logistics Under The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CARE

     On February 18, 2021, a meeting was held within the framework of raising awareness about an integrated approach to ports and logistics and identifying steps, implementation of the CAREC program for the study of ports and logistics that need to be taken to implement scientific activities, taking into account the results of scientific work, which was attended by representatives of the “Turkmendenizderyayollary” agency, Turkmenbashi International sea port and CJSC “Commercial sea fleet’ of Turkmenistan. At the beginning of the workshop, Ignasi Ragas, port and logistics expert and team leader, spoke about the purpose, scope and main findings of the study. In his speech, he elaborated on the transit corridors included in the CAREC program. Then Adrian Sammons, port operations expert and founder of “AMSTEC Pty Ltd”, gave a speech on the analysis of cargo traffic in the region during the workshop. In his speech, the international expert spoke in detail about the analysis of cargo traffic, its share by country and the collection of information about them by tracking the movement of ships via satellite. In his speech, he also compared the relationship between the ports of the Caspian, Black and Arabian Seas (cargo carried between ports, type of cargo carried). Then the participants of the meeting shared information on railways and roads of the countries participating in the CAREC Program. Then Davron Khodjayev, an expert on institutional development of logistics, spoke about the state transport policy in the CAREC countries and the programs adopted in this regard. The meeting also discussed the National program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2011-2030 and the National transport policy (2017). Especially was mentioned The International Airport, the International Seaport and the bridges built in our country in recent years.
