On June 26, 2020, a meeting was held in the office building of "Turkmendenizderyayollary" to discuss issues related to the creation of ferry services. The meeting was attended by the management of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary", the heads of the Turkmenbashi International seaport, the heads of the Merchant marine fleet and the Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan). Representatives of the Russian Federation were represented by the Minister of industry and natural resources of the Astrakhan region and representatives of the Ministry, the Chairman of the international relations Service of the Astrakhan region, representatives and General Director of the Merchant marine Olya. During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of creating a ferry service between the international sea port of Turkmenbashi and the Russian port of Olya. It was also discussed that in connection with the creation of ferry services in this regard, the rates for calls between the two ports will be leveled, and the possibility of discounting them will be reduced. It was noted that the creation of a ferry service between the two ports is one of the most important directions at the state level.
