On August 27, 2020, a video conference was held in the administrative building of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" with the heads of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" and representatives of the Turkmenbashi International seaport, as well as heads of various departments and enterprises of Azerbaijan and Afghanistan. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the transport and logistics roadmap for trilateral cooperation in this area in order to intensify the Lapis-Lazuli corridor. In this regard was discussed the issue of assigning one operator on each side of the passage. It was reported that appropriate work is being carried out in Azerbaijan to appoint a single operator. It is reported that the Turkmen side will take appropriate measures in this regard from the current joint-stock company "TULM". For its part, Afghanistan reportedly does not yet have an operator in the area, but reports that the freight tariff policy is being implemented by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Railways. During the meeting, the Afghan side proposed to celebrate Lapis-Lazuli day in order to promote the Lapis-Lazuli corridor, which was supported by the participants of the meeting. The Turkmen side was also interested in the possibility of reducing the amount of fees charged by Afghans when crossing the Akina and Turgundi border crossings. In addition, at the end of September 2020, an agreement was reached with the participation of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to identify concrete steps to increase cargo traffic along the Lapis-Lazuli corridor. In addition, the parties expressed their comments and suggestions on the road map of dams. Following the meeting, the parties decided to postpone the next meeting to the end of September, taking into account the comments made in the roadmap of cooperation.
