On August 6-7, 2021, the International Exhibition of National Goods of the Central Asian countries was held in a solemn atmosphere at the Turkmenbashi International Sea port.
The exhibition lasted for two days and presented 49 exhibition stands dedicated to goods and services produced in the countries of Central Asia. Forty of them belonged to different industries and companies of Turkmenistan, one national pavilion for each of the four countries of the Central Asian region. Five more stands of national companies were presented by the Republic of Uzbekistan and more than 250 exhibitors took part in the exhibition.
The opening ceremony of the international exhibition was attended by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the exhibition, the parties exchanged views on cooperation with the production sectors of the Central Asian countries participating in the exhibition.
During the summit, the President of Tajikistan visited the ferry-passenger and container terminal of the Turkmenbashi International Sea port. The ferry and passenger terminal can accommodate up to 800 passengers simultaneously with four vessels of the “Ro-Ro” and “Ro-Pax” types. The terminal has a capacity of 300,000 passengers and 75,000 cars per year. The terminal has VIP and CIP halls, cafes and restaurants, various entertainment centers. It also includes a 50-seat guest lounge where passengers can relax. A container terminal, on the other hand, can simultaneously receive three container ships and transport 400,000 containers per year. The terminal is equipped with the latest equipment and “Leibherr” cranes and is designed to store more than nine thousand containers.
The President of Tajikistan noted that the port is a golden ring not only for the present, but also for the future port on the Caspian Sea coast between Europe and Asia.
The international exhibition and consultative meetings of the heads of Central Asian states in the port are of great importance for increasing the potential of the transport and communication sector of our country, the development of cargo transportation between the countries of Central Asia and the creation of transit corridors. This is one of the important tasks in promoting export-oriented production of high-quality products produced in our country, in the trade and economic development of entrepreneurs and artisans, as well as in bringing cooperation and friendly relations between our countries to a new level.
