November 20, 2020 in the administrative building of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" held a videoconference with participation of heads of Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary", Turkmenbashi International sea port, JSC "Merchant fleet" as well as leaders and representatives of the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation, which discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of maritime transport between the two countries. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on establishing cooperation between the transport sector of Russia and Turkmenistan to create favorable conditions for the development of international transport corridors in the Russian and Turkmen parts of the country. In this regard, the issues of ferry service between the port of Makhachkala in the Russian Federation and the port of Turkmenbashi were considered. In this regard, the Russian side noted the need to analyze the capabilities of the two ports. The Turkmen side supported this proposal and stated that it is ready to send information about the port of Turkmenbashi through diplomatic channels.
