On July 15, 2020, a meeting was held between public and private institutions of Turkmenistan and Romania in the office building of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary". During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of intensification of the international transit corridor "Caspian Sea - Black sea", discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in this area. The video conference was attended by the Turkmen side, the heads of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary", the leadership of the Turkmenbashi International seaport and the Merchant marine fleet. The Romanian government was represented by representatives of the National company "Administration of sea port Constanta", Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Romania, Ministry of transport, infrastructure and construction, Public railway company "CFR MARFA SA" and Business Association of Constanta. During the meeting, heads of state bodies of the Romanian Republic, heads of the port of Constanta and representatives of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary", representatives of the Agency "Turkmendemiryollary", representatives of the Agency "Turkmenavtoyollary" exchanged views on issues of “Caspian Sea - Black sea” trade and international cooperation. The parties first noted that the Turkmenbashi International sea port and the port of Constanta are conveniently located for the “Caspian Sea - Black sea” international transit corridor, and that the ports are equipped with modern equipment for cargo handling. Then the parties moved to the agenda and discussed issues in the direction of this transit corridor. In other words, the parties exchanged information about the goods to be transported along the corridor and the types of vehicles to be used. Taking into account the modern material and technical base of the existing Turkmenbashi International sea port, the Agency announced its readiness to fully service cargo that will pass through this international corridor.
