On July 15, 2020, a video conference with “DP World” was held in the office building of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary". The meeting was attended by representatives of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary", Turkmenbashi International sea port and Merchant marine, as well as representatives of "DP World" and "JAFZA" (Jebel Ali Free zone). During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of establishing cooperation between “DP World” from the United Arab Emirates and the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary", as well as the effective use and joint management of the Turkmenbashi International sea port, and the creation of a joint transport and logistics company. It was noted that they created the China-Kazakhstan-Russia-Europe ring for “DP World” shipping, adding that they also considered it appropriate for Turkmenistan to join the ring. The potential of the Turkmenbashi International sea port was also discussed in detail, and given the rich experience of “DP World”, specific proposals were made for the development of transport and logistics in the port. The Agency also offered to consider the possibility of joint management of the existing terminals of the port on mutually beneficial terms. The company also informed about the “JAFZA” dry port (Jebel Ali free zone) and informed about the possibility to lease land in the port by Turkmen private companies.
