A meeting on the development of transport cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation was held on July 13, 2020 in the office building of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary". The video conference was attended by a delegation headed by Deputy Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Yu. Svetkov and heads of agencies "Turkmendenizderyayollary", "Turkmendemiryollary", "Turkmenavtoulaglary". During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the development of transport cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation and the tasks to be solved in this sphere. In addition, issues related to cooperation in the field of sea, rail and road transport, as well as the training of specialists in the field of transport were discussed. The parties expressed interest in establishing regular ferry services between the ports of the Russian Federation Olya and Makhachkala and the Turkmenbashi International sea port within the framework of cooperation in the Maritime sector, as well as on the work and conditions to be adopted in this regard. It is reported that regular ferry services on the routes between the ports of Turkmenbashi-Makhachkala, Turkmenbashi-Olya are planned to transport food, construction materials, wood products, polypropylene products, diesel fuel and other petroleum products.
